If, like so many of my clients, you find your skin routine falling like autumn leaves every April and May then don’t worry, you’re not alone. With the arrival of the cooler season it’s not unusual for your skincare routine to take a little bit of a dip and before you know it that gorgeous summery glow goes from ‘hot’ to ‘not so much’.
First things first. It’s important to take care of yourself during the cooler months from the inside out, making sure that you’re eating enough leafy vegetables and drinking plenty of water is the first step to keeping your skin beautiful all year round. However, if you’re finding that you need an extra helping hand getting your skin back to its best then you can’t go wrong adding these three things to your routine.
It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that cold air + hot showers + windy days = dry skin. It’s a common skin complaint that I hear from clients every single winter. So, if you’re finding that your regular moisturizer simply isn’t up to the job, then maybe it’s time to consider adding a serum to your routine. For the ultimate must have addition to pump up your routine, I recommend the Biologi range of serums which contain natural and active ingredients to level up your skincare regime.
Make ritual part of your routine
Looking to give dull skin the flick once and for all? There’s never a better time to start a regular facial routine than winter. Because you naturally spend more time indoors trying to stay cosy than outdoors in the prickly sun, it gives your skin the chance to heal and replenish in between treatments while minimizing exposure to damaging UVA rays. For a quick and cost effective way to get the low-down on what your skin needs, I recommend starting with a consultation which includes an LED light therapy treatment. You can easily book this online.
In our hour together, I offer a full consultation to design a plan to work with you on addressing specific skin concerns or goals whether it be acne, eczema, dermatitis or pigmentation. You'll receive a full personalised product treatment plan, recommendations for allied health practitioners to provide additional support, supplement recommendations and a 30-minute Dermalux LED session.
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate
While regular facials are the best way to ensure you keep your skin glowing all year round, you should always ensure that you try to gently exfoliate your skin once a week with a quality product. For your best defence between treatments, I recommend using the Wildcrafted Organics Wild Berry and Honey cleansing scrub and mask once a week and always cleanse with a muslin bamboo cloth for a gently daily exfoliation. This wonder mask is uses crushed hibiscus petals and honey's natural enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and gently exfoliate. Halloysite and zeolite clays remove toxins and the powerful antioxidants in wild harvested Maqui Berry counteract pollutant induced skin damage. Nourishing, hydrating and skin brightening, this multi-tasking product will leave your skin looking healthy and radiant.
